Double jointed bits

Bits that joint twice have a milder effect on the horse’s palate. This makes the more sensitive mounts easier to pick up on the bit.

Double jointed bit.

Double-jointed bit is the second basic type of breaking the bits. In this variant, it joint in two places and the pressure created is no longer as large as in the case of a bit that breaks individually. Consequently, its action is milder. Our store also offers such models.

How is a double-jointed bit constructed?

Double jointed bit like its predecessor, it is divided into two parts, but additionally they are connected by a piece of metal. The piece may be flat or rounded.

Why is there no “nutcracker” effect in double-jointed bits?

The additional part of the bit increases its mobility and eliminates the “nutcracker” effect. However, it is important to remember that not all horses are the same and some of them react badly to the pressure on the tongue caused by an additional piece of metal (the shorter the connector, the more pressure).
