Western Reins

Western reins are equipment designed specifically for Western riding enthusiasts. They are characterized by a classic look, high durability, and appropriate weight. They will perfectly match the entire Western tack, creating a cohesive and elegant whole on your mount's back.

Split Reins – The Specifics of Western Riding

Classic split reins are mainly used in Western disciplines and competitions. This is due to the fact that the design of this equipment makes it easier to guide the horse using just one hand (so-called neck reining). This is extremely useful in situations where the rider's other hand must be occupied holding a rope or is needed, for example, to open a gate from the saddle.

Traditionally, this type of reins is relatively long (reaching up to 2.4 m in length) so that the rider can adjust them as needed or even tie them freely. They are held crossed over the horse's neck. Most often, split reins are made of thick, high-quality leather and are used together with curb bits.
