Balotade® Wing Anatomic Single Jointed Loose Ring Bit with Bit Plates, Stainless Steel
This product is currently sold out.
Calm, clear action and an end to pinched lips – for horses that react nervously to the bit.
The Single jointed model with lip guards from the Balotade® Wing Stainless Steel range is an anatomic bit with loose rings, in which the mouthpiece widens into broad plates where it meets the rings. Those plates solve a problem every rider working with a bit knows: a loose ring can gather and pinch the skin in the corner of the mouth.
Lip guards – an end to pinched lips
- Broad plates on both sides of the mouthpiece separate the lip from the moving ring,
- No pinching even during intensive work,
- Gentle turns – the guard rests against the mouth and supports the action of your aids,
- The bit does not slide sideways in the mouth,
- No extra rubbers – the guard is part of the bit, not an accessory to buy separately.
Anatomic shape
- A mouthpiece shaped to the mouth – it does not lie straight but follows the line of the bars,
- Less point pressure on the tongue and on the angle of the jaw,
- 14 mm thickness – it spreads the pressure over a wider surface than thinner bits.
Single jointed mouthpiece – how it works
- One joint in the middle of the mouthpiece – direct action that the horse reads easily,
- Pressure on the tongue and the bars – the classic action horses know well,
- A good choice to start with and for horses that only know a single jointed bit,
- A clear signal from one rein – it helps with straightening and with turns.
Stainless steel – durability and easy care
- High quality stainless steel – resistant to rust and to everyday use,
- Hygienic and easy to clean – rinse and wipe dry,
- No maintenance and no polishing,
- Neutral in the mouth – it suits horses with no particular taste preferences.

Most of our steel bits are hollow inside. This construction makes them lighter and more comfortable for horses to use. If a specific bit has a different construction (e.g. solid inside), this information will be included in the product description. It is always worth reading the description before purchasing to be sure of the specifications of the model.
Stainless steel bits are manufactured from high-quality steel, which is characterized by corrosion resistance and durability. The process begins with forming the steel into the appropriate shapes, which includes cutting, bending and welding the parts. The bits are then subjected to surface treatments, such as polishing, to enhance their aesthetics and functionality. Each bit undergoes rigorous quality testing to ensure safety and comfort for horses.
To extend the life of your stainless steel bit, clean it regularly. After each use, rinse it with water to remove any food or saliva residue. You can use a soft sponge or cloth to clean it, and if necessary, a mild metal cleaner. In addition, protect the bit from mechanical damage, such as impacts or falls, which can cause scratches or deformation.
Yes, stainless steel bits are resistant to rust and corrosion due to the properties of the material. Stainless steel contains chromium, which forms a thin layer of chromium oxide on the surface of the metal, protecting it from moisture and other atmospheric agents. Although stainless steel is much more resistant to rust than traditional carbon steel, it is still important to clean and maintain it regularly to ensure long-term protection.
Yes, of course. We accept returns of stainless steel bits in our shop, provided that the product has not been used. You have the option to return the bit within 30 days of purchase. If the bit does not meet your expectations or you simply changed your mind, you can send it back according to our returns policy.
