Balotade® Foal Halter

The Balotade® Foal halter is a newborn foal’s first halter — light, so that it does not burden a delicate head, and with enough adjustment to last through the first weeks of the fastest growth.

Lining where it presses

The headpiece and the noseband are lined with soft neoprene. A foal’s skin is thin and sensitive, and in the first days the halter is often worn for long stretches — the lining spreads the pressure and protects against rubbing behind the ears and on the bridge of the nose. That is the main difference from the Mini Foal model.

A wide range of adjustment

Adjustment works at two points: at the poll and under the jaw. The nose circumference sets between 48 and 55 cm, the head circumference between 80 and 90 cm. The measurements of every strap are in the size chart.

Construction

• Webbing: hard-wearing nylon, the same as in the Balotade® Comfort and Flaffy halters
• Lining: neoprene on the headpiece and the noseband
• Fastening: snap hook under the jaw
• Fittings: in silver
• Ring under the jaw for clipping on a lead rope

Foal or Mini Foal?

Foal is the standard size of foal halter — it is the one that fits most foals. Mini Foal is noticeably smaller and is the option for exceptionally small foals. If you are unsure, measure the foal’s head circumference with a tape measure: 80 cm and up — Foal; 70 to 80 cm — Mini Foal.
