Balotade® Apex Blue Aluminium Safety Stirrups

Balotade® Apex Blue aluminium safety stirrups combine two things that usually rule each other out: very low weight and a safety mechanism that actually works. The body is made of light but strong aluminium, while the outer branch of flexible polymer opens at the moment of a fall and releases the foot before it can get trapped.

A branch that releases the foot

The most dangerous thing that can happen in riding is a foot left in the stirrup after a fall. Apex safety stirrups solve this mechanically, without the rider doing anything:

• The outer polymer branch bends under load and opens the stirrup sideways,
• The foot comes out by itself – no pulling, no waiting for the horse to stop,
• The branch returns to its place once the pressure is gone, so the stirrup is ready to ride on,
• Nothing to buy afterwards – no rubber bands or clips that have to be replaced once they have done their job.

Aluminium instead of steel
