Calm, clear action and an end to pinched lips – for horses that react nervously to the bit.

The Single jointed model with lip guards from the Balotade® Wing Stainless Steel range is an anatomic bit with loose rings, in which the mouthpiece widens into broad plates where it meets the rings. Those plates solve a problem every rider working with a bit knows: a loose ring can gather and pinch the skin in the corner of the mouth.

Lip guards – an end to pinched lips

  • Broad plates on both sides of the mouthpiece separate the lip from the moving ring,

  • No pinching even during intensive work,

  • Gentle turns – the guard rests against the mouth and supports the action of your aids,

  • The bit does not slide sideways in the mouth,

  • No extra rubbers – the guard is part of the bit, not an accessory to buy separately.

    Anatomic shape

    • A mouthpiece shaped to the mouth – it does not lie straight but follows the line of the bars,

    • Less point pressure on the tongue and on the angle of the jaw,

    • 14 mm thickness – it spreads the pressure over a wider surface than thinner bits.

Single jointed mouthpiece – how it works

      • One joint in the middle of the mouthpiece – direct action that the horse reads easily,

      • Pressure on the tongue and the bars – the classic action horses know well,

      • A good choice to start with and for horses that only know a single jointed bit,

      • A clear signal from one rein – it helps with straightening and with turns.

Stainless steel – durability and easy care

        • High quality stainless steel – resistant to rust and to everyday use,

        • Hygienic and easy to clean – rinse and wipe dry,

        • No maintenance and no polishing,

        • Neutral in the mouth – it suits horses with no particular taste preferences.
